Where it started: a small room in Novi Sad

People ask how I ended up here, teaching artists on four continents and holding one of the highest titles PhiAcademy gives out. It started in a small room in Novi Sad in 2012, at one of the very first courses Branko Babić ever taught.

I didn’t know at the time that I was watching the start of something that would define my career. I just knew I wanted to learn the technique properly, not guess my way through it. Branko taught that course himself, in person, and I paid attention.

I stayed loyal to PhiAcademy from that day. A lot of artists take one course and move on. I kept learning, kept training, kept showing up whenever the academy needed someone.

A few years later I moved to Norway, and in 2015 I became PhiAcademy’s Master for Norway, the artist responsible for bringing this training standard into a country that barely knew what microblading was at the time. Every artist I trained after that would carry the PhiBrows name into their own work, so I took it seriously.

Since then I’ve taught and trained across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America, wherever the academy needed the standard brought somewhere new. Grand Master of Honour isn’t given for technique alone. It takes years, and it takes staying.

I still think about that small room in Novi Sad, and how far one course can take you if you actually pay attention.
